He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Knox Phifer and Ethel Sturgill Phifer. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Marlow Phifer; his son Kevin Phifer (Aude); his granddaughter Emma Phifer; and his daughter Hillary Phifer Walser (Kris).
