He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Transou and Ethel Transou; and his sister Kay Transou Hood (Edward Hood, Jr.). He is survived by: his daughter Allison Abernethy (Jason); his grandchildren, Leah of Camas, WA and Zack Abernethy of Camas, WA; his grandmother Transou Romaine of Wake Forest, NC; his nieces, Heather Romaine Crane of Wake Forest, NC, Molly Hood O'Brien Watkins (David) of Darien, CT and Lisa Hood Bezzeg (Bob) of Campobello, SC; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lila Crane, Cailin O'Brien, Connor and Cary O'Brien.
