He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Kitchen Watkins and Hattie Sue Wheeler Watkins; his wife Patsy Lou; and his siblings, Clyde, Fannie Lou, James Dudley, Seby, Marionette and Betty Jean.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Kitchen Watkins, Jr. (Melinda) of Lewisville, Vickie Watkins Davis (David) of Durham and Gail Watkins Killman of Wilmington; his brother Jack Watkins (Judy) of Oxford; and his grandson Noah Hunter Watkins.
