He was predeceased by: his father Edward Murphy; his siblings, Virtue Tyner (Lee), Edna Robinson (Dean), Euna Lee Ward (Charles), Doris, Margaret Weatherman (James), Lois Warfel, Ralph, Ray Jackson and Bob Murphy (Pat); and his brothers-in-law, Dan Pollock and Al Sale.
He is survived by: his wife Dewilla Sale Murphy; his daughter Kim Mickey; his granddaughters, Lauren Mickey (Tony Chen) and Hannah Mickey; his sister Charlotte Rosebrook (Jim); and his parents-in-law, Carol Murphy, Velna Pollock, Susie Sale and Raymer Sale (Bonnie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Ronald McDonald House, or Centenary United Methodist Church.
