She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Ruef and Beulah Kathleen Haynes Ruef; her husband Phillip Dean Sherman; and her brothers, William Ruef and Benjamin Ruef.
She is survived by: her daughter Penny Lynn Lurie of Warrenton, VA.; her granddaughters, Alicia Gabrielle Lurie of Haymarket, VA and Kristin Jeniece Lurie of Cincinnati, OH; and her siblings, Mary Allen of Advance, Deanna Rhodes of Mulberry, FL and Bernard Ruef of Florida.
