She was predeceased by: her parents, Bryant Dolphus and Lucille Hilton Smith; and her husband William "Bill" Sampson Poindexter. She is survived by: her children, Bill Poindexter of Clemmons and Janet P. Sowers (Alan) of Lewisville; her granddaughter Dr. Kristi Sowers of Asheville; and her sister Virginia S. Sidden of Clemmons.
