She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert James and Marguerite James; and her brother John James. She is survived by: her husband Joe L. Newsome, Jr.; her sons, Joel L. Newsome III and Jamey L. Newsome; her daughter-in-law Jennifer Schommer Newsome; and her granddaughters, Mary Ryan Newsome and Leah Nicole Newsome.
