He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Walter and Minnie Robertson Nichols; his former wife Jerri Nichols; his wife Judith Ellingham Nichols; and his son Michael Eugene Nichols.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Nichols (Carol), Jennie Hess (Terry) and Katie Hartness; and his siblings, Charlie Nichols, Jean Bustle and Diane Brinkley.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Union Hill Baptist Church (8494 Lasater Rd, Clemmons, NC 27012).
