He is survived by: his wife Elsie Underwood Yates; his stepsons, Bruce Underwood of Greensboro and Bradley Underwood (Cathy) of Clemmons; his grandchildren, Davis, Carmella and Joshuaray; his brother Weldon Yates (Beth) of Mocksville; his nephews, Steve Yates and Alan Yates (Bethany); and his niece Doris Ann Biddix (Wayne).
