It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Kent Humphries of Clemmons, North Carolina, born in Gaffney, South Carolina, who passed away on September 25, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Humphries and Eloise Humphries; his daughter Ashley Lynn Humphries; and his sister Sybil Popson. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Newsom Humphries; and his daughter Susan Christy Humphries. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
