She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Thompson and Fred Thompson; her husband William Nelson Sr.; her children, William Nelson Jr. and Phyllis Nelson; and her brothers, George and Richard Thompson.

She is survived by: her granddaughters, Theresa Robinson Marci Robbins (Jim), Beth Sell (Josh) and Sarah Ogburn.

Due to covid restrictions the family will hold a private graveside service at Forsyth Memorial Park.
