With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Howard Byars (Clemmons, North Carolina), who passed away on January 1, 2020 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alvin Byars, Sr. and Mary Mildred Mendenhall Byars; his wife Alcie Orr Byars; his son Daniel Howard Byars; and his brothers, William Alvin Byars, Jr. and Edward Brooks Byars.
He is survived by: his daughter Karen Van Nostrand (Robert Jay) of Clemmons; and his grandchildren, Steven Mark Sutton and Christina Marie Van Nostrand.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
