She was predeceased by: her parents, William M. Scott and Birdie Mae Huffman Scott; her husband Walter Lee Cope, Jr.; and her son-in-law Jerry Phibbs. She is survived by: her daughters, Darlene Phibbs of Advance and Janet Comer (James) of Clemmons. She is also survived by three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
