It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elbert Hughes of Clemmons, North Carolina, born in Gold Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Emery Hughes and Odessa Lowder Hughes; and his sister Juanita Lazenby. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Hemrick Hughes; his children, Tim Hughes (Amy), Angie LeRoy (Bill), Julie Mustin (Erik) and Michael Hughes (Marsha); and his brother Gene Hughes. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Salem Baptist Church, 429 S. Broad St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
