It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Joan Newell Thompson in Clemmons, North Carolina, who passed away on June 30, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Frank and Ola Mae Starbuck Newell; her husband Benjamin Davis Thompson; and her siblings, Edith Culbreth, Virginia Brandon, Donola Newell, Pauline Floyd, Mildred Sells, Gracie Fishel and James Odell Newell.
She is survived by: her daughter Stephanie Thompson Kelley (Richard). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and their children.
