He is survived by: his wife Sharon Dixon Blackmon; his children, Tony Blackmon (Sheila), Sheila Blackmon Taylor (Rodney) and Sherri Blackmon Hill (Trey); his grandchildren, James Taylor (Cara), Will Blackmon, Sarandon Taylor Williams (Alec), Joshua Taylor, Savannah Taylor, Cody Blackmon and Chase Hill; his great grandchildren, Chloe Taylor, Carissa Taylor and Boone Williams; and his sisters, Patricia Blackmon Massengill (Cliff) of Hampstead, NC and Gail Blackmon of Lexington, SC..

“In loving memory of Wilson Earl Blackmon, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I am very sorry to hear about the death of WE. He would call me sometimes and I would call him sometimes. Whenever we were in Smithfield, I would try to visit him. He was my dad's (Fred L. Blackmon Jr) 1st cousin. I did not know about his death until Sept. 21 when I called his cell phone and he did not answer. Then they told me that he had passed away in May.”
