It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vernie Mae Adams (Clayton, North Carolina), who passed away on November 4, 2020, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse James and Mozelle Gardner Lee; her husband Everett Odell Adams; her sons, E. O. Adams, Jr. and Matthew Alan Adams; and her brother Graham Lee.

She is survived by: her children, Christy Adams Shannon (William "Spike" Shannon), Beth Adams McGee (C. Ray McGee), Donald Craig Adams (Dena Hatton) and Timothy Lee Adams (Susan Adams); her daughter-in-law Bonnie Adams; and her sister Frances Sorrell. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19, a brief graveside service will be held at 10 am. Friday, November 6, 2020, at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Rather than flowers, the family requests contributions to Oakland Presbyterian Building Fund, 8927 Cleveland Road, Clayton, NC 27520; or a charity of your choice.
