He was predeceased by: his father William J. Tart; his wife Selmadean Tart; his great grandchild David A. Vasquez; and his siblings, Viola Wilkins, Odessa Garner, Lorene Conway and Durwood Tart.

He is survived by: his children, Debbie Long (Bob) of Clayton and David Tart (Joanne) of Eldersburg, MD; his grandchildren, Joshua Holliday (Ashley) of Murray, KY, Tyler Denning of Cary, David Tart, II (Emily) of Nottingham, MD and Sara Vasquez (David) of Clermont, FL; and his great grandchildren, Lyla Holliday, Corinne Holliday, Aria Tart and Cameron Tart.
