He was predeceased by: his parents, Walon F. Matthews and Lenoyer Nayler Matthews; and his son Michael Glen Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Carraway Matthews of Clayton; his son Daniel Lee Matthews (Victoria Pearl Rosen) of Smithfield; his brother Roger Dale Matthews (Ruth Matthews) of Clayton; and his grandsons, Brayden Carraway Matthews and Lucas James Phelps.
