It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Gregory Lankford of Clayton, North Carolina, born in Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on August 6, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lankford and Theola Lankford; and his sister Joanna Allen of Plymouth. He is survived by: his wife Fay Lankford of Clayton; his son Greg Lankford (Sarah) of Conway, SC; his grandchildren, Matthew (Elizabeth) and Megan; his daughter Kellie Lankford-Smith (Lucas) of Clayton; his grandson Graham; and his siblings, Kathy Taylor (Tony) of Williamston, NC, Susan Long (James) of Roper, NC and Miles (Amy) of Charlottesville, VA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
