He was predeceased by: his parent Raleigh; his son Ernest Richard Reid (Bernice Beaman Reid); and his favorite mule Sweet Pea. He is survived by: his wife Betty Minton; his sister Beverly Reid; his siblings-in-law, Bill Minton and Jan Minton; his nephews, Derek Melvin and Josh Minton; and his close friend Chester Calhoun.
