It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Percy Yates Lee of Clayton, North Carolina, who passed away on October 31, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Creech Lee; his parents, T. R. Lee and Lena Faison Lee; his brothers, Ray Lee, Proctor Lee, Ernest Lee, Troy Lee, Raymond Lee and Ricky Lee; and his siblings-in-law, Ernest Blackley, Donnie Dupree and Cathie Lee.

He is survived by: his children, Deborah Lee Coats (Kenneth) and Scott Lee (Laura); his grandchildren, Tyler Coats (Megan), Kendra Coats Deans (Richard), Kaitlyn Coats Millard (Kris), Brandon Lee (Kyle), Kelsey Lee Hyman (David) and Mackenzie Lee; his great grandchildren, Kamdon, Kolten, Kaison, Kordyn, Dean, Waylon, Michael, Charlotte, Kreclee, Koen and Kennedy; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Jaxson and Hunter; his siblings, Joyce Lee Blackley, George Lee (Susan), Fred Lee (Texie) and Hubert Lee (Bonnie); and his sisters-in-law, Nola Wayne Lee, Shirley Lee, Peggy Lee, Jean Lee and Jo Ann Dupree. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

While flowers are welcomed, the family has also designated memorial contributions to First Baptist Church at P.O. Box 35, Clayton, NC 27528 and to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215.

Joyce was my Secretary at Cooper Elementary School. Our deepest condolences to all the family. RIP dear Percy. - The Lees have made such an indelible contribution to Clayton, and Percy was well known by many. - Dr. Julie Jailall & Dr Jerry Jailall.”
