He is survived by: his wife Angela Brooks Thorpe; his children, Dameko Thorpe and Kara Brooks of Maryland; his brothers, Charles Thorpe (Gail Thorpe) of Wendell and Chris Richardson (Daphne Richardson) of Wake Forest; and his sister-in-law Dana James (Jeffery James) of Maryland. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
