Leona Benson Ellis Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 2, 2020, at the age of 86, Leona Benson Ellis (Clayton, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Benson and Ruby Sasser Benson; her husband Lexie Ellis; her son Jeffrey Ellis; her brothers, Alvin Benson (Hump) and Larry Benson; and her sisters-in-law, Gertrude Benson and Louise Benson.

She is survived by: her children, Lester Ellis, Ann Sanderford (Donnie), Barney Ellis (Cindy), Angel Thomas (Andy Tabor), Zan Lipscomb (John) and Scotty Ellis (Kay); her brothers, Edward Benson and Dwight Benson (Janice); her sister-in-law Jeannie Benson; and her nieces, Dianne Green and DeeAnna Kennedy. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
