He was predeceased by: his parents, Mytro Zdan (Jacob) and Anna Holoczynska Zdan; and his wife Victoria Sophia Pohorecki. He is survived by: his daughter Christine M. Zdan Smith (Joe); his grandchildren, Dawn M. Stokes and Shawn M. VanSteen (Tracy); his great grandchildren, Jacob Kramer Stokes, Caroline Sophia Stokes, Evan Michael VanSteen and Landon David VanSteen; and his siblings, Stanley, Joseph, Frank, Louis, Theodore and Helen.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for contributions to be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Raleigh, NC.
