It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John E. Calvert Jr. of Clayton, North Carolina, born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on April 27, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Calvert, Sr. and Sunie Nichols Calvert of Inman. He is survived by: his wife Mary York Calvert; his daughter Alicia Clinton; his grandson York Clinton (Megan Mathews) of Clayton; his siblings, Harry Calvert (Maxine), Heyward Calvert (Vivian) and Ruth Hammett; and his friends, Kim, Randy, Cole Hogge and Gayle Judy. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
