He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Coats and Flonnie Lassiter Coats; and his siblings, J. C. Coats, Charles Coats and Mary Frances Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Green Coats; and his daughter Kristi.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home (12830 US 70 Business Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
