He was predeceased by: his father Fernando Acevedo Sr.; his mother-in-law Louise Benson; his brother Ralph Acevedo; his daughter Natalie Wooten Pottorff; and his granddaughter Adlynn Rose Marie Henry.
He is survived by: his wife Shelia; his daughters, Ginger Waldschmidt (Morey) of Clayton and Alisha Stevens of Sylvania, GA; his grandchildren, Addison, Avery, Camden Waldschmidt, Jayden, Gracie Stevens, Paisley and Rylee Hendrix; his mother Rosemarie Acevedo of San Antonio; his father-in-law Edward Benson of Clayton; his siblings, Fernando Acevedo Jr. (Irene), Elizabeth Torres (Larry) of San Antonio, Diana Cervantes (John) of San Antonio, Sandi Cantu (Chuck) of San Antonio, Hilda Hughey (Robert) of San Antonio and Stephanie Acevedo of San Antonio; his sister-in-law Darlene Parks (Randy) of Clayton; his niece Tonya Smith (Patrick) of Clayton; and his nephews, Blake Parks (Cierra) of Four Oaks and Jesse Acevedo (Morgan). He is also survived by other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McLaurin Funeral Home (12830 US 70 Business Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520). The military honors was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at the same location.
