She was predeceased by: her parents, Dora B. DeTellem (Stringer) and Carroll J. DeTellem; her brother Steve DeTellem; and her niece Meltem Tosun. She is survived by: her spouse John S. Walter; her sons, Todd (Lorrie, Walter, Brian), Michele and Travis (Meredith, Walter); her grandchildren, Seth Walter, Ross Walter, Alex Walter, Dylan Walter, Sloan Walter and Bethany Walter; her sisters, Mickey Hanselman, Anita Tosun and Ann DeTellem; her uncle Bill Stringer; her aunt Judy Bright; her niece Denise Richards; and her nephews, Jamie and Rowdy DeTellem.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Horse and Buddy, a Therapeutic Horseback Riding program for children and adults with special needs that her grandson Seth Walter has been a part of for over 10 years.
