He was predeceased by: his father Gordon Tallent. He is survived by: his children, Alesia Bethune (Patrick), Mark Tallent (Pam) and Alan Tallent; his sister Grace Greene; his grandchildren, Justin Keevert, John Tallent and Crystal Tallent; and his close friend Connie Franks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UNC Hospice 287 East Street Suite 221 Pittsboro, NC 27312.
