With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris Johnson Stokes (Clayton, North Carolina), who passed away on May 15, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parent Zora Johnson; her husband Fred Stokes; her siblings, Clemon, Thurman, Ben, Wade, Valton, Vernon (Tan), Woodard Johnson, Lucille Beasley, Ruby Powers and Ruth Mize; and her grandchildren, Charles Stokes, Mica Love and Brandy Lewis.

She is survived by: her children, Mike Lewis and Sandy Benson (Rick); her stepson Lee Stokes; her siblings, Robert Nelson Johnson and Dorothy; and her grandchildren, Crystal Johnson, Vanessa Locklear, Stacy Twiggs, April Stokes and Scooter Stokes. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
