He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlene Merton and Robert Merton (Ernie); his sister Kathy; his nephew Kyle Silic; and his siblings-in-law, Susan De Haas and David Hynes.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his daughters, Courtney Merton and Christine Merton (Mercedez); his grandchildren, Elliott and Izaac Merton; his sisters, Laurie Merton and Melissa Potter (Adin); his siblings-in-law, David De Haas and Diane Hynes; and his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey De Haas (Heather), Kimberly Mather (Dana), Zachary Silic and Alexis Quint (Daniel). He is also survived by "Papa" leaves his grandsons.
