He was predeceased by: his parents, John Auton and Magdalene Crawford Auton; and his siblings, John Jr. and Jackie Auton Ayscue. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Bryant Auton; his sons, Chris Auton of Selma, Doug Auton (Brenda) of Selma, David Sorrell, Sr. (Holly) of Sims, Johnathan Auton of Clayton, Justin Bryant Auton, Sherrill Bryant of Garner and Jason Baker of Raleigh; his siblings, Jerry Auton (Susan) of Clayton, Danny Auton (Bettie) of Selma, Rodney Auton (Phylis) of Clayton and Mary Auton of Garner; his brothers-in-law, Johnnie Bryant of Princeton, Walter Bryant of Clayton and Jarvis Bryant of Roper; his grandchildren, Catherine Brown (Joe), Charles Auton (Brandi), Sarah Auton, Matthew Auton, Jacob Auton, Nicholas Nowlin, Jason Baker, Jr., Silas Cliffton, David Sorrell, Jr., Hayley Sorrell, Kayla Eakes, Brantley Sorrell, Kinsley Eakes, Paisley Sorrell, Lanely Whitaker and Ashley Eason; his great grandchildren, Chandler Brown, Jackson Auton and Adalynn Auton; and his close friends, Kenny Mitchell (Louise), Debbie, Samantha Johnson, Marissa Freda, Sandy, Ricky Benson and Paula Harrison. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great great-nieces and great great-nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the West Clayton Church of God (143 Short Johnson Rd, Clayton, NC 27520).
