He is survived by: his wife Diane Williford Hales; his sons, Ashley Hales (Lorie) of Wilmington and Ryan Hales (Sandee) of Clayton; his brothers, Craig Hales (Elizabeth) of Angier and Jeff Hales (Nickie) of Clayton; his brother-in-law Larry Williford (Carol) of Raleigh; and his grandchildren, Daughtry, Carter, Bailey, Sawyer, Hannah, Blythe and Ameiah Hales. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
