She is survived by: her children, Alphonso Atkinson (Gwen) of Greensboro, NC, James Atkinson Jr. (Shirley) of Dayton, Avery Atkinson of Charlotte, NC, Phyllis McDonald of Charlotte, NC and Ann Atkinson-Bedford (Nolan) of Mt. Rainier, MD; and her siblings, Ronnie Smith (Diane) of Brooklyn, NY, Lee Smith of New Jersey, Marie Liles (Abram) of Oxford, NC, Van Smith of Bronx, NY and Ethel Johnson of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, one great-grandson, a host of relatives and friends.
