It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Elizabeth Atkins of Clarkton, North Carolina, who passed away on March 3, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Claudie Jackson and Sarah "McRee" Smith Jackson Vause; her husband Elbert Clayton Atkins; her stepfather Junior Vause; her daughter-in-law Ginger Atkins; and her grandson Randy Caffee, Jr. (Sarah).
She is survived by: her sons, Bruce Atkins Sr. (Sheila) of Clarkton, Elbert Lee Atkins (Dahlia) of Georgia, Rick Atkins of Bladenboro and Chet Atkins of Bladenboro; her close friend Richard Synder (Mae) of Oklahoma; her daughters, Sarah Ann Atkins of Lisbon and Sue Parks of Wilmington; and her siblings, Wilton Vause (Melody) of Council, Mary Erickson (Art) of Cary, Joyce Ellis (Johnny) of Acme Delco and Betty Gurganis of Atkinson. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
