We are sad to announce that on August 6, 2022, at the age of 91, Mary Gooden Ward of Clarkton, North Carolina passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Gooden Ward to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her father Walter Alden; her siblings, Louise Maiden, Betsy Barfield, Frances Adams, James Gooden and McAulay Gooden; and her grandson Michael H. Ward.
She is survived by: her children, Billy M. Ward (Shirley) of Clarkton and Geri W. Weldon; and her brother-in-law Wilbur C. Ward (Joyce) of Clarkton. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will memorialize John and Mary Ward due to the pandemic not allowing a service for John in 2020 and in honor of their 72-year marriage.
The family asks that memorials be made to Clarkton Presbyterian Church or the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville, NC.
