He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Henry Batten, Sr. and Reba Ann Atkinson Batten; his wife Wanda Faye Dowless Batten; and his siblings, Wilbert Henry "Joe" Batten Jr., Juanita Batten Miner, Jean Batten Hinson and Sandra Batten Godwin.
He is survived by: his daughters, Hope Lynn Batten of Melfa, VA and Ginger Yvonne Lacefield of Beaufort, SC; his brother Christopher Batten (Mary Kate) of Whiteville; and his grandchildren, Xzavier Lacefield, Sophia Lacefield, Josie Lacefield and Mazie Lacefield.
