Though Iris Jeanette Cartrette may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Iris Jeanette Cartrette touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Avery Cartrette and Evelyn Duncan Cartrette; her brothers, Dewey Delane and Harold Dean Cartrette; and her niece Jean Marie Cartrette Gray.
She is survived by: her husband Terry McEwen; her daughter Dellanie Fowler (Brandon) of Clarkton; and her grandchildren, Lakynn and Landon "Bubba" Fowler.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home (3131 M. L. K. Dr, Elizabethtown, NC 28337). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
