She was predeceased by : her parents, Sam Nelson and Myrtice Nelson; her daughters, Kay Shaver Hopkins and Karen Jeanette Shaver; and her brother Eddie Ray Nelson.

She is survived by : her husband Hubert Paul Shaver; her sons, Steve Shaver (Gayle) of Council and Sammy Shaver (Christine) of Clarkton; her siblings, Thomas Wayne Nelson (Lorraine) of Fayetteville and Mary Ellen Stanton of Florida; and her grandchildren, David Wayne Hopkins (Kim), Jeremy Paul Shaver (Chasity), Ashley Hopkins, Courtney Guyton, April Smith (Charlie), Lindsie Nicole Shaver and Wendy Gale Shaver. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
