It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Godwin (Clarendon, North Carolina), born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on December 11, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Norris Sellers and Deams Godwin; and her siblings, Harmon Sellers, True Love Sellers, Eugene Sellers, Juanita Clewis, Geneva Spencer and Doshia Nobles.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Godwin (Deborah) of Clarendon, NC, Dennie Godwin (Mary Lou) of Clarendon, NC, Judy Whitaker (Jim) and Phyllis Mercer (Tony) of Chadbourn, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
