It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred D. Strickland Jr. of Clarendon, North Carolina, who passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Doris Strickland, Sr. and Grace Gladys Hardie Strickland; his wife Wanda Grainger Strickland; and his siblings, Henry Strickland, Margaret Strickland and Katherine Deloch.

He is survived by: his children, Jon Strickland (Kendra) of Clarendon, NC, Rhonda Edwards (Ricky) of Cottageville, SC, Wendy Tyree (Robin) of Whiteville, NC and Julie Walker (Reggie) of Clarendon, NC; his grandchildren, Kenley Strickland, Cruz Strickland, Trevor Tyree, Heather Godwin and Ricky Edwards; his great grandchildren, Landry Godwin, Grayanna Godwin, Blake Nobles and Bayleigh Edwards; and his sister Doris Gore of Tabor City, NC..
