She was predeceased by: her parents, William Ralph Pope and Claudia Mary Dellinger Pope; her husband James Franklin Abernathy; her grandsons, Jesse Lynn Setzer and Jerry Lee Freeman Jr. Those; her daughters, Rebecca Caldwell (Wayne) of Claremont, Arlene Freeman of Claremont and Sherry Reinheardt (Randy) of Catawba; and her grandchildren, Johnnie Yates, Nena Freeman, Wesley Ryan Freeman, Annette Swanson, Richard Caldwell and Stacey Caldwell.
She is survived by: her great grandchildren, Brandy Cook, Christopher Lackey, Michael Yates, Summer Yates, Wesley Freeman, Kelsey Todd, Trevor Setzer, Stacie Swanson, Kristen Swanson and Jerron Freeman; and her great great grandchildren, Mitchell Whelchel, Brianna Cook, Haley Cook, Madison Freeman, Arthur Freeman, Ella Freeman and Sawyer Todd.
