He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Evans and Annie Evans; and his siblings, Lloyd Evans, Beulah Ecord, Nadine Black, Diana Bumgarner, John Evans and Clyde Evans.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Carpenter Evans; his daughters, Amy Evans O'Stean (Chris) of Decatur, Georgia and Lori Evans Hall of Decatur, Georgia.; his granddaughters, Anna Christine Hall, Caroline Evans O'Stean and Claire Brannon O'Stean; his siblings, Eula Sims of Tennessee, Mildred Edwards, Mary Argento (Frank), Jim Evans (Katie) and Harold Evans (Sheila); his close friends, Don Patrick and Chris Herman; his caregiver Trina Long; and also, Sandra Karr (Jerry), Debbie Sanders (Mike), Donald Sims (Mary Lynn) and David Sims (Traci) of Georgia.
