He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert M. Lail, Sr. and Nell Bowman Lail; and his sisters, Bernice L. Fox and Judy A. Lail. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Lail; his daughter Sherry Baxley (Randall) of Conover; his grandchildren, Nolan M. Smith (Bayley) of Winston-Salem, James R. Simmons of Boston, Christopher R. Baxley of Denver, Jarod Baxley (McKayla) of Denver and Harley T. Smith of Charlotte; his great grandchildren, Alyssa and Desiree Smith; and his siblings, Robert M. Lail Jr. (Pat) of Conover, Belmar W. Lail (Donna) of Claremont and Betty Jean Lyalls of Hickory. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
