It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Shelton Whitener of Claremont, North Carolina, who passed away on March 15, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Claude Whitener and Antha Lillian Wilkinson Whitener; his wife Margie Brown Whitener; his siblings, Mary Frances "Bobbie" Whisnant (Harry Whisnant), Joe Whitener and William "Bill" Whitener (Jeanette); and his granddaughters, Carla Whitener Brown and Marla Jacquelyn Brown.
He is survived by: his daughter Jill Whitener Brown (Doug Brown); his sisters, Rebecca Ramsey and Libby Connor; his great grandchildren, Jackson R. Brown and Peyton R. Brown; and his stepgreat-grandsons, Sky, Kendall and Cole Hayes.
