It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Buddy Smith of Claremont, North Carolina, who passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryson Medford Smith and Elizabeth Hoyle Smith; and his siblings, Helen Rayburn, Patricia Hedrick, Wayne Smith, Douglas Smith, James Smith and Bill Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Brinkley Smith; his children, Terry Smith (Sheryl) of Conover, Sherry Caldwell (Joe) of Nashville, TN and Julie Carpenter (Kenny) of Claremont; his grandchildren, Catlin, Cassidy, Kiley, Cori, Carly, Cayman and AJ; and his great grandchildren, Scout, Easton, Emmett, Adeline, Bryson, Jaxon, Josie, Brielle and Brynlee.
