With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Ann Waid Whitley of Claremont, North Carolina, who passed away on January 17, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dennis Clinton Waid and Katie Elizabeth Stough of Parrish, Alabama.; her husband Paul Whitley of Wilkesboro, NC.; her grandson Roderick Scott Yow; and her great grandchild Luke Ervin.
She is survived by: her siblings, Eunice Allen of Bakersfield, CA, John Waid of Huntsville, AL, Juanita Alread of Jasper, AL, Lujene Painter of Lincolnton, NC and Berta Robertson of Jasper, AL.; her daughter Rita; her grandchildren, John Fowler (Linda) of Kissimmee, FL, Ann "Gidget" Wray (Kenny) of Claremont, NC, Leslie Benson (Bobby) of Newton, NC, Tiffany Carpenter of Claremont, NC and Jason Carpenter (Rhonda) of Claremont, NC; her great grandchildren, James Fowler (Alexandra), Rolen Benson (Brookelynn), Benjamin Benson (Makayla), Ashley Benson, Joshua Martin (Sarah), Hailey Cloud (Spencer), Addison Wray, Chloe Ervin (Codie), Cooper Wray (Morgan), Dillon Yow, Gavin Carpenter, Paisley Carpenter, Ivan Huffman and Ivey Huffman; her great great grandchildren, Eden Fowler, Nicholas Fowler, Asa Benson, Easton Martin, Evelyn Martin, Archie Cloud, Crosby Ervin and Ozzy Wray; her beautiful Faith; and also Robert.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Alexander Funeral Service (193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel (193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681).
