He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Cherry and Carrie Lee Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Edwards of Greenville, NC; his sons, Anthony Phillips of Farmville, NC, Steve Phillips of Washington, NC and Damian Phillips of Farmville, NC; his niece Shaiveta Warren; and his siblings, Donald Edwards of Walstonburg, NC, Kenneth Cherry of Farmville, NC, Mattie Gay of Farmville, NC, Bobbie Cherry of Farmville, NC, Annie Green of Farmville, NC, Lorraine Cherry of Farmville, NC, Carrie Foreman of Greenville, NC and Brenda Edwards of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hemby-Willoughby Funeral Home (3561 N Railroad St, Fountain, NC 27829). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
