He is survived by: his wife Faye Gurganus Brown; his sons, Jarvis Edward Brown, Jr., Boyd Lane Brown and Floyd Lee Brown; and his siblings, Yvonne Scott, Frankie Smith, Johnny Brown and Ronnie Brown. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
